Various programs the NNNFB are involved in.

After the Bell Program

The Niqinik Nuatsivik Nunavut Food Bank is proud to be partnering with Food Banks Canada to provide the After The Bell program in Iqaluit. This program allows the NNNFB to prepare and distribute food to students that is nutritious and filling thus making their day a bit brighter.

Thanks to the tireless work of the Iqaluit Food Bank’s own Shontell MacInnis and her team of educators, she can make sure the program is administered to as many kids as possible. With extra donations from NNNFB added to the program, we are able to make the most of this endeavour.

Thank you to Shontell and her volunteers for all the hard work and as well to all the the Niqinik Nuatsivik Nunavut Food Banks volunteers to come together and make this program possibe.

Thsnk you to Food Banks Canada for creating the program and working with NNNFB in making sure this program continues.

Help Deliver 175,000 Healthy Food Packs to Children in Need Accross Canada.

Did you know?

Over 300,000 children in Canada struggle to get food each month.

Summer’s supposed to be a time when kids learn to dive at the community pool, or soar to the sky on the swings at the local playground. But that’s really hard to do when you’re hungry. You can help change that!

In 2021, we were able to deliver 150,000 healthy food packs to food banks across Canada to distribute to high-need communities.

We’re determined to deliver 175,000 packs in 2022, each containing healthy, kid-friendly foods of healthy food choices — and we’re looking for your help to get us there.

What’s in a pack?

Each pack contains child-friendly, nutritious foods. The packs are assembled at our packing day event with shelf-stable items such as milk, hummus, crackers, cereal, oatmeal and sunflower seeds. The packs are then sent to the local food bank who uses grant money to supplement the food packs with perishable items such as apples, sugar snap peas, cheese, and yogurt.
